What Is a Capital Campaign?

Welcome to our Campaign Corner, a weekly series where we'll answer common questions about the United in Faith, Forward in Excellence campaign and share more about the vision for the future of St. Joseph Catholic Academy.

Let's start with the basics: What is a capital campaign?

A capital campaign is a focused effort to raise funds for significant projects that go beyond an organization's normal annual budget.

While tuition, fundraisers and annual giving help support daily operations, a capital campaign funds major improvements that will serve the community for years to come.

In our case, the campaign will help strengthen our campuses, improve accessibility and security, support modern learning environments and create an Academy auditorium. In future Campaign Corner posts, we'll dive into each project with detail.

Throughout the campagin, you'll also hear us talk about making a pledge to support the campaign. A pledge is simply a commitment to make a gift over time, in our case, over three years. Rather than making a one-time donation, families and supporters can spread their gift into manageable payments. This approach allows many more people to participate and make a meaningful impact.

For many, this may be the first capital campaign you've experienced. Over the coming months, we'll explain the process, answer questions and share why these investments matter for today's scholars and future generations.

Because together, we're improving our campuses and strengthening the future of Catholic education in St. Joseph.
